PAK PM met the Prime Minister of China, agreed to cooperate on CPEC 2.0

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met Chinese Prime Minister Lee Kiang in Beijing on Thursday and both sides confirmed their resolve to further strengthen their strong, every season to strengthen strategic cooperative partnership. During the meeting, the two sides also agreed to continue working on the next phase of the Advanced China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0), including five new corridors, the government radio Pakistan.

During this warm and friendly meeting, the two leaders expressed their satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-China relations, saying. Prime Minister Sharif expressed his deepest gratitude to the Chinese leadership and nation for his unwavering support for Pakistan’s regional integrity, sovereignty and socio-economic development. Sharif highlighted the significant contribution of President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Pakistan’s socio-economic development in the last decade and highlighted the need to reconstruct the Main Line-1 railway project and the reconstruction of the Karakoram highway and the need to implement the operation of Gwadar ports early.

Emphasizing the B2B cooperation and immense possibilities of investment, the Prime Minister informed the Chinese Prime Minister about the B2B investment conference held earlier in the day, which was attended by more than 300 Pakistani and 500 Chinese companies. He recognized agriculture, mines and minerals, textiles, industrial areas and IT as priority areas for mutually profitable economic cooperation. Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s support for the historical initiatives of President Xi Jinping to strengthen multilateralism, including global rule initiative, global development initiative, global security initiative and global civilization initiative.
