The Pakistani Army opened fire on Pashtun protesters in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing seven Pashtuns and injured more than twenty. The protesters gathered in the Tirah Valley to protest against the death of a child killed in mortar firing by the Pakistani Army. In retaliation, the soldiers started indiscriminate firing at unarmed Pashtun protesters. According to Dawn’s report, according to a provincial government official, protesters protesting against anti -terrorism operations in the area were shot in the Mohammed Goz area of the Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sohail Afridi, a special assistant to KP Communications and Works, mentioned an incident a day earlier, when a mortar shell fell at a house, killing a girl, after which the residents protested outside the Frontier Corps (FC) complex, as Don told. He said that the disappointed locals gathered at the gate of the campus and when the crowd reached the area, the bullets started firing. He confirmed that there were reports of death and injured people as a result of the incident. PTM Khyber expressed deep grief and anger over the violence issued by the Pakistani Army against citizens and condemned firing on peaceful protesters in Khyber Tirah and Bajaur. In its X post, the organization said that under the guise of military operations and curfew, unarmed citizens, including people mourning for a dead child, were attacked. According to his statement, PTM Khyber questioned the state’s aggressive reaction to a peaceful call for the right to live.

Pashtun activist Fazal-ur-Rehman Afridi condemned the military operations being carried out by the Pakistani army in other areas of Bajaur and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and called them a cruel and targeted attack on Pashtun citizens. He accused the Punjabis of using security concerns to increase violence. He cited the atrocities against the alleged war against terrorism, in which more than 80,000 Pashtuns were killed and their homes, businesses and livelihoods were destroyed. Afridi also criticized the PTM’s peaceful demands against the rehabilitation of TTP terrorists in Pashtun areas and warned of strict resistance to the Pashtun community.
