Paatal Lok 2 Review | Elephant Ram Chaudhary, who arrived directly from Jamunapar to resolve the murder, is full of risks by Jaideep Ahlawat.

It has been almost five years since a group of spectators became familiar with the talent of Patal Lok and Jaideep Ahlawat in their homes. This was the time when the OTT show used to be more excited and faster. The producer (producer Sudeep Sharma and director Avinash Arun) are seen showing some restraint in the Patal folk season 2, and a lot of bloods have been carefully reduced. The shock value still remains, in which a very detailed view of a severed, headless body in the first few minutes welcomes you. It is safe to say that Patal Lok 2 has no relation with the first part, except that Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat), Officer Ansari (Ishwak Singh), SHO Virk (Anurag Arora) and Hathi Ram’s family members – his wife (starred by Gul Panang) and son Siddharth (Bodhisattva Sharma) are some characters. Even though the paths of elephants Ram and Ansari have separated after the successful IPS, but after the murder of high-profile Jonathan Thom, they meet each other, a person who has the support of almost the entire Nagaland. Ansari is made in charge. Meanwhile, the elephant Ram of Jamunapar Police Station is searching for a certain Rahul Paswan, who is a band-Baja boy, which is not known. Unexpectedly, both these cases are added, and up to three episodes, the Hathi Ram-Union pair reaches Nagaland, this time Ansari is in charge.

Like the OG season, murders continue to happen and people die as if it is not a big deal, and problems get even more entangled, before the elephant Ram finally solve the mystery one by one with his elephant-like memory. If you liked the first season and you have seen it religiously, then you will know how the end of the story will be – for the people of the earth, the lines between the heaven Lok and the Hades will always be blurred. If the first season was focused on class division in the Hindi belt, the second season shown action towards Nagaland – where there is a Hades, which is equally immersed in crime and greed.

However, it seems that the cruelty, rawness and patience of the first season are missing. In the first season, the story collides very closely. The audience was brought in front of the Hades, which they know about, but often ignore. This series forced us to hesitate and become uncomfortable with the realization that the darkness of Hades is present around us and within us. Season 2 does not reach so close to the house, but it does something that has long been ignored in the mainstream.
In the backdrop of Nagaland, a luxurious interiors are introduced with nuances and placed to develop. With the understanding of the concept with ‘village Ganwar’ like elephant Ram, which does not know where Nagaland is on the Indian map, the manufacturers ensure that every member of the audience appears to be understanding the socio-political cracks in the perfect setting.
As an audience, showing a northeast state on screen is a welcome change. Between flying pills, you get a glimpse of a calm surroundings surrounded by green greenery and mountains. Along with this, there are north -eastern artists who increase authenticity – whether it is a fugitive rose or restless Ruben Thom, which is brought out with perfection by LC Sheikhos or Jahnu Barua, who is brought to the Delhi Business Summit.
Jaideep Ahlawat established himself as one of the most talented actors in the first season, and in the second season he continued to perform brilliantly as his always. They are immaculate as Hathi Ram, and five years ago, it is a treat to see him again as a police officer who won our hearts.

Ishwak Singh is as excellent as Ansari. The Tilottama Shom joined this season, and she acted as an outstanding as SP Meghna Barua, who is a mother of six children and a formidable police officer who has to make her place in the male-dominated area. Their track wants you to see more. And then, Nagesh Kukunur in the form of Kapil Reddy, who spreads magic in his limited screentime. Patal folk season 2 is quite different from the first season.

Although it does not have many elements that the audience liked in the first season, it makes many sensitive issues related to the northeast (especially Nagaland). It boldly enters an area where many people shy away from going. For this reason and for many other reasons, this film is definitely worth watching.

3.5 out of 5 stars on Patal Lok 2 series.
