P.V. Indus BWF Athletes will contest commission election – On Air 13

India’s two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will compete for the BWF Athlete Commission during the World Championships in Spain from December 17. Reigning world champion Sindhu is currently playing in the Indonesian Open in Bali. He is one of the nine players nominated for the six positions. The selection of the Athlete Commission (2021 to 2025) will take place on December 17, 2021 in Spain along with the Total Energies BWF World Championships, the sports body said.

Out of the existing players, only Sindhu will contest again. He was previously elected in 2017. She is one of six women delegates to the cycle. Accompanying Sindhu will be Indonesian women’s doubles player Gracia Polly, who won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Sindhu was also selected in the Athlete Commission for IOC’s ‘Believe in Sports’ campaign in May.
