Order to close two private schools running without recognition – Ludhiana News

.

The inspection committee constituted by District Education Officer Primary, Ravinder Kaur has taken strict action on two schools running without recognition in the district and issued orders to close them immediately. This step has been taken in view of the violation of Section 18 (1) of the Right to Education Act (RTE Act) 2009. The first cause notice was issued to both the institutions, but this action was taken on not receiving satisfactory response.

The first case is of “Prerna Academy” at Sherpur Kala, which was inspected on 24 April 2025. During the inspection, it was found that a total of 65 children from first to fifth were studying regularly in the institute. However, the operator claimed that it is a tuition center, but classes were found running like school on the spot.

The second case is of “Sarthak Academy” located at Shera Colony, Tibba Road. In the inspection on 22 April 2025, 96 children from nursery to seventh were found studying here. The director also described it as a tuition center, but the arrangements were found like school. District Education Officer Ravinder Kaur issued orders to close both schools with immediate effect, considering them to be a violation of the RTE Act.

Also, clear instructions have been given that the children studying in these schools should be admitted to the nearest government schools as soon as possible so that their studies are not affected. This action of the Inspection Committee has shown a tough stance of the Education Department, which also indicates strict steps against other institutions running without recognition.
