Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the inauguration of the Advanced Night Vision Factory in Nimmaluru, Andhra Pradesh, and highlighted how the technology will help boost India’s defense exports and promote the growth of drone technology and industry. Addressing a public meeting here, Prime Minister Modi said the inauguration of the Advanced Night Vision Factory in Nimmaluru is another step towards achieving self-reliance in the defense sector. This factory will increase India’s capacity to manufacture night vision devices, missile sensors and drone guard systems. The equipment manufactured here will also increase India’s defense exports.

Prime Minister Modi said that the strength of products made in India was also seen during Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. PM Modi said that in Operation Sindoor we have seen the power of Indian-made products. I am glad that the Andhra Pradesh government has resolved to make Kurnool the drone hub of India. Drone industry will promote the development of many new sectors related to future technology in Kurnool and Andhra Pradesh. The ingenuity of drones in Operation Sindoor has amazed the world. In the future, Kurnool is poised to become a national force in the drone sector.
To strengthen the dedicated defense manufacturing of the nation, Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru in Krishna district was set up by Bharat Electronics Limited with an investment of about Rs 360 crore. According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the facility will manufacture advanced electro-optical systems for the Indian Defense Forces, strengthening self-reliance in defense production and promoting skilled employment in the sector.
