Under the Union Home Ministry’s nationwide initiative ‘Operation Muskan’-11, 7,678 children were freed in Telangana in July, in which more than 6,000 children were being given child labor.A total of 28 divisional teams were deployed to inspect commercial installations, construction sites, traffic junctions, buses and railway stations and other places of exploitation of children.Officials gave this information on Friday.

Additional Director General of Police (Women’s Protection Cell) Charu Sinha said in a release that several places including railway and bus stations, religious places, brick kilns, mechanic shops, construction sites, tea shops were identified in the state and a total of 7,678 children (7149 boys and 529 girls) from 12 states were rescued, including four children of Nepal.
Police said 1,713 FIRs were registered in this campaign and 1,718 accused were arrested. Apart from this, 6,593 children were introduced to their families while 1,049 children were sent to shelter homes.

The saved children had 1,173 boys and 74 girls. Of the rescued children, 673 are native to Telangana, while 560 are from other states. Significantly, 14 children were found to be found from Nepal, which reflects nature across the boundary of this issue.
Under this campaign, the police registered 55 FIRs against employers involved in illegal child labor. In addition, 939 cases were registered and violars were fined Rs 47,75,921.
