Shiromani Committee Secretary Pratap Singh said that the 200-year martyrdom centenary celebrations of Jathedar Akali Baba Phula Singh are being jointly conducted by Shiromani Committee, Shiromani Panth Akali Budha Dal, various organizations and sects with the support of devotees. The main event of the centenary will be held on March 14 at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall as per panthic traditions.
He said that on March 12, at 9:00 am at Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Gurbaksh Singh Ji, after the Sri Akhand Path Sahib Bhog, the massive Nagar Kirtan will begin in the echo of chants and chants. Prominent personalities of the panth will participate during this Nagar Kirtan. In this Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the centenary, elephants, horses will be the center of attraction for the devotees.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Committee President, various Nihang Singh organizations, Sikh sects and societies as well as gatka parties will also attend. Pratap Singh said that Nagar Kirtan started from Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Ghanta Ghar, Zallianwala Bagh, Ghio Mandi Chowk, Ram Bagh, Hathi Gate, Lahori Gate, Khazana Gate, Hakiman Gate, Bhagatan Wala Gate, Baba Jassa Singh Ramgarhian Gate, Chatiwind. On March 13, Gurdwara Burj Akali Baba Phula Singh will organize a Gurmat Samajam, in which panth famous ragi, dhadi, kavishar jatha and kathawachak will unite the Sangat with the Gurjas.
The Secretary of the Shiromani Committee said that on the occasion of the centenary, the feast of Sri Akhand Path Sahib will be held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on March 14 and the main event of the centenary will be held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. Prominent personalities including Jathedar of Takht Sahibs, Singh Sahibs of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, all Nihang Singh organizations, mints, panthak parties, heads of Sikh sects will be present in the event. He said that historical weapons will also be shown during the event.
