A major accident took place in Zirakpur on Diwali day, where a 24-year-old youth was seriously injured while filling gunpowder in a jugaru potash gun. The condition of the young man is critical.

24-year-old Sooraj, a resident of Chaudhary Colony in Zirakpur, sustained serious injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at PGI Hospital in Chandigarh, where his condition remains critical.

The accident took place when Suraj was loading gunpowder in a potash gun (a native jug made of iron pipe), at the same time a huge explosion occurred, in which Suraj was seriously injured. The explosion was so violent that it broke the windows of the house.
