The Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters were launched on August 15. After the launch, the company had claimed that both the electric scooters received an overwhelming response from the people and within a few days, Ola got bookings for 90,000 electric scooters. After this, from December 15, the company started the delivery of the first batch of these scooters. However, on Sunday, Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) President Vinkesh Gulati informed via Twitter that till December 30, Ola has distributed 111 electric scooters. This data is from the center’s vehicle portal. Till Gulati’s tweet, the company had not shared any exact delivery data, but later the company issued a statement on its behalf.

According to the data shared by FADA President Gulati on Twitter, most of the scooters by Ola Electric have been delivered in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Statistics show that out of 111 electric scooters delivered, 60 are registered in Karnataka, 25 in Tamil Nadu, 15 in Maharashtra and 11 in Rajasthan.

On Friday last week, Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder and CEO of Ola Electric, said It was said that the company has shipped all the units of the first batch of S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters. He further stated that [เค‰เคธ เคธเคฎเคฏ] Some of these are in transit, and most are already going through the process of RTO registration at the delivery centres. He also talked about the more time taken in the registration process than expected and said the reason behind this is a completely digital process. Agarwal also assured that the registration process will be faster in future.

Gulati also talked about the RTO process in his tweet, but also expressed the apprehension that this difference between booking and delivery could be a marketing stunt. He wrote “Is the Direct to Customer concept turning out to be a big hurdle? Is it real or just another media/startup hype?”

One given by HT Auto statement In December, Arun Sirdeshmukh, Chief Business Officer, Ola Electric said (translated) โ€œWe have shipped around 4,000 scooters for delivery to customers in December.โ€
