Odisha resident stabbed to death in Thrissur

A 19-year-old migrant laborer was stabbed to death allegedly following a clash between co-workers in Kunnamkulam in Kerala’s Thrissur district. Police gave this information on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Ghanshyam Nayak, a resident of Brajrajnagar in Jharsuguda district in Odisha.

Police have arrested Dharambir Singh of Jharsuguda in connection with the case. According to the police, both Nayak and Singh worked in a ’tiles and sanitary ware’ shop in Kunnamkulam. The incident happened around 10.30 pm on Saturday night, when some employees were playing cards in their room behind the shop.

The FIR states that a fight broke out between the two during the game and in a fit of rage, Singh allegedly stabbed Nayak in the chest and stomach. Naik was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but he died.

Kunnamkulam police have registered a case of murder and started investigation. Police said that the accused will be produced in the court and the body will be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.
