Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said on Saturday that he has not suggested any name for the post of state Congress president to the party’s in -charge Rajni Patil for the mountainous state.
After meeting Patil, Sukhu told reporters that the Congress high command has to decide to select the state Congress chief. He said that he can only discuss future programs and issues to be raised between the assembly and the public.
Sukhu said, “Everyone is equal for me. The entire party believes in the ideology of the Congress and we will support any appointment made by the high command. ”Referring to the discussion in the assembly on disaster relief, Sukhu said that there is a difference between what the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) says and what it does.
He claimed, “The BJP demanded a discussion under Rule 67, on which we agreed. We discussed this issue for four days, but when the answer came, BJP members went out of the House. ”
Sukhu claimed, “We have not yet received any financial assistance from the Center. We are providing relief from our resources, giving seven lakh rupees for home construction, 70,000 rupees for goods and 50,000 rupees for cattle loss, which is much higher than other states. ‘
The Chief Minister also said that he would talk to the Union Home Secretary in Shimla and demand adequate special relief package for the state, which is struggling on a large scale due to continuous rains, cloudburst and sudden floods.
