After investigating allegations of insulting Indian soldiers in a web series of actress and filmmaker Ekta Kapoor on the online streaming forum ‘Alt Balaji’, Mumbai Police told a court here that no “criminality” has been found in the allegations against her (Ekta Kapoor).
The report said that no officer or active armed forces officer has filed a complaint against Kapoor or OTT forum, so no legal action has been taken.
The YouTuber Vikas Pathak (also known as ‘Hindustani Bhau’) filed a private complaint in the Bandra Magistrate Court, in which an objectionable scene on camphor and OTT platforms was accused of tarnishing the nation’s pride by portraying the Indian Army uniform.
The magistrate had directed the Khar police to investigate and submit the report. The report presented earlier this month said that a case has been registered in Madhya Pradesh in this regard and there is no need to register a new case elsewhere.
Apart from Ekta Kapoor, Pathak took the name of her parents Shobha and Jeetendra Kapoor as well as Alt Balaji. Pathak claimed that the Kapoor family was the director of the ‘Streaming Forum’, but the police report said that he was the director of ‘Balaji Telefilms’, not ‘Alt Balaji’. The report said that no criminality has been found in the allegations made by the complainant.
