Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav and termed him and his party workers as criminals who patronize criminals. He claimed that those who committed heinous crimes like massacre, rape, murder, dacoity etc “took shelter in the houses of RJD ministers”. Rai further alleged that there was a period of “Jungle Raj” between 1990 and 2005, when the RJD patronized criminals, practiced nepotism and grabbed land from the poor, which is the inherent characteristic of the RJD.

Speaking to reporters, Rai said that Tejashwi Yadav knows that all his people, including himself, are criminals who protect criminals. When there was Jungle Raj from 1990 to 2005, criminals got protection everywhere… The situation of crime was such that people who committed crimes like massacre, rape, murder, caste frenzy, dacoity etc. used to take shelter in the houses of RJD ministers. Giving protection to criminals, nepotism, grabbing the land of the poor, all this is in the nature of RJD.
Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav expressed confidence of the grand alliance’s victory in the upcoming Bihar elections and said that after the alliance comes to power between November 26 and January 26, “criminals will be arrested and strict action will be taken against them.” “There is not a single day in Bihar when there is no firing. The grand alliance is going to form the government and between November 26 and January 26, criminals will be arrested and strict action will be taken against them,” the RJD leader and alliance’s chief ministerial candidate told reporters here on Sunday.
