Nitish Kumar retires mentally, Kharge’s scathing attack in Patna

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of mentally retiring Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and called him a burden. Kharge said that the end of the corrupt regime of the Modi government will begin at the upcoming assembly election center. Kharge attacked the BJP and the Election Commission for rigging the voter list through the alleged “vote theft” and special intensive revision (SIR). He said that the extended meeting of the Congress Working Committee was held to confirm the party’s commitment to democracy and protect the Constitution in Bihar, the mother of democracy.

Kharge said that when we come to power in Bihar, we will implement 10 -point programs … We have to uplift backward classes, Dalits and others who are deprived of our rights. He targeted the Modi government for economic recession, rising unemployment and increasing social division. He said that the promise to create two crore employment has remained incomplete, youth are struggling for unemployment and policies like demonetisation and GST have destroyed the economy. Referring to the recent steps of US President Donald Trump, Kharge said that our problems at the international level are the result of Narendra Modi and his government’s diplomatic failure. Friends whom the Prime Minister is called ‘my friend’, he is putting India in many difficulties today.

Kharge expressed grief over Bihar’s poor economic performance under the BJP -led NDA government, which returned to power with Nitish Kumar in January 2024. He described the claim of double engine as hollow, citing the lack of special central government packages for Bihar.
