BJP MP Nishikant Dubey lashed out at the Congress for opposing the arrest of activist Sonam Wangchuk in connection with the Leh violence. Dubey criticized the Congress for the works of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the Emergency and cited the arrest of senior BJP leader Vijaya Raje Scindia and former Andhra Pradesh Governor Bhim Sen Sachar. He told ANI, “You are calling for the Constitution? But in 1975, Rajmata Scindia, who was the founding member of BJP and Queen of Gwalior, was arrested and raids of the Income Tax Department. He and Gayatri Devi were imprisoned in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, where they were not even a toilet?”
The BJP MP accused activist Sonam Wangchuk of being a “foreign power” hand and said that Prime Minister Modi fulfilled the demand for the status of Union Territory of Ladakh. He said that today you are talking about Wangchuk. People died in Ladakh. Wangchuk used to ask for the status of Union Territory State; Now after the inclusion of a foreign force, they are seeking state status. The Congress did nothing in the last 30 years, but Prime Minister Modi gave you the status of Union Territory. Investigation is going on.
Dubey further said that but 82 -year -old Bhima Sen Sachar, who was a freedom fighter and former Governor of Andhra Pradesh, was dragged by the police. Do you talk about democracy? Congress should apologize to the country. Earlier today, Dubey shared an X post saying that the Congress is shedding “crocodile tears” for those arrested after violence in Leh, Ladakh. While sharing an X post, the BJP MP wrote, “Indira Gandhi ji had locked the Queen of Gwalior and BJP founder Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia ji in the death penalty in Tihar Jail in Delhi, where there was no facility for toilet.”

He said that it is surprising that only the freedom fighter and former Andhra Pradesh Governor Bhim Sen Sachar Saheb was sent to jail at the age of 82 with police tortures to write a letter. Today, this Congress is shedding crocodile tears for the people arrested after the Ladakh violence.
