Nine people died due to floods on Nepal-China border, 20 others missing

At least nine people died and 20 others went missing due to flooding of the river due to monsoon rains in Rasuwa district of Nepal. At the same time, the “Friendship Bridge”, which connects the country to China due to floods, was washed away.

The Bhotekoshi river in Nepal was flooded due to the torrential monsoon rains on Monday night in China. According to the news of the ‘Republic’ newspaper, at least nine people were washed away due to floods in the river. His bodies were recovered from the districts of Dhading and Chitwan several miles away.

The ‘Miteri Bridge’ located in Rasuwa district, 120 km northeast from Kathmandu, was washed away in floods at 3:30 pm on Monday. Out of 20 people missing from the bridge, there are three security personnel and six Chinese citizens are reported. Many rescuers are present in the area.

The flood damaged four hydroelectric projects in the district, affecting the supply of at least 211 MW to the National Electrical Grid. The swollen river took away 23 cargo containers, six cargo trucks and 35 electric vehicles.
