Nidhi Tiwari is a 2014 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer. She was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) since November 2022. Earlier, she has served as an under secretary in the Dise-Arms and International Security Affairs Division of the Ministry of External Affairs.
Nidhi Tiwari has held several important positions in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Nidhi Tiwari passed the Civil Services Examination 2013. Before passing this exam, she was working as Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Tax) in Varanasi and along with a job she prepared for civil service.
During his tenure as a deputy secretary at PMO, Nidhi Tiwari worked in ‘Foreign and Security’ vertical, which reports to the National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. During this, he specially paid special attention to issues related to foreign affairs, nuclear power, security matters and Rajasthan state.
Fund appointment process in PM According to an official memorandum released on 29 March 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment of Nidhi Tiwari. This appointment has come into force with immediate effect and Nidhi Tiwari will now act as a private secretary on Pay Matrix Level 12.
This appointment has been made on the basis of co-order, that is, it will remain effective as long as it remains in this post. Nidhi Tiwari’s responsibilities as the Prime Minister’s private secretary will be extremely important and wider.
