According to reports, 43 Israeli soldiers have ended their lives since the war started in Gaza from October 2023.

Israel’s Haretez newspaper quoted sources as saying that the most recent case is of a soldier of Golani Brigade, who committed suicide by shooting himself at SD Yemen military base this week.
The soldier committed suicide after interrogation by the military police under a prior investigation. He had returned from Gaza for a refresher training session that he was called for questioning. A few days ago, Israeli news site Walla said that another soldier committed suicide after suffering mental anguish for months with the horrors seen during the long war in Gaza and Lebanon. His trauma began with losing two close friends on October 7, 2023, and “during the long months of the war deepened with his constant pain and horrors seen in the battlefield”.

The army has allegedly buried some of these soldiers without any military funeral or public announcement to hide the seriousness of the crisis. Meanwhile, according to the report of the Hebrew -language daily newspaper Mariv, after the pressure of the families of the soldiers, the Israeli Parliament Neset is preparing to hold an emergency session. These families have expressed concern over serious flaws and safety flaws in a large number of puma fighter vehicles posted in Gaza. The main problems of this vehicle include lack of emergency exhaust from back, limited peripheral cameras and weak security compared to other armored vehicles.
