NEPAL Protests Updates: Ghing-Sangam collided in front of Rashtrapati Bhavan in Nepal, security was increased across the country

Discussions on who will handle the country’s command, as Nepal is gradually returning to the normal situation, after several days of violent protests lasted for several days. After the nationwide sanctions by the Nepali army, names such as former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah and former CEO of Electricity Board Kulman Ghising are being considered to lead the interim government.

Protests outside the President’s office

The tension outside the President’s office in Kathmandu increased when the protesters of Generation Z gathering in support of Kulman Ghising and Haraka Sampang. The protesters raised slogans in support of these leaders, while anger increased when only one group was invited to the President’s campus. The situation deteriorated rapidly, due to which the Nepali army had to come forward to control the crowd. Security has been tightened as the deadlock between protesters and officials continues.

Call to maintain constitutionalism

According to media reports, Nepal’s Pratinidhi Sabha Speaker Devraj Ghimire and National Assembly President Narayan Dahal on Friday called for resolving the ongoing political deadlock under the constitution. The joint statement of Ghimire and Dahal comes on a day when an important meeting is being held at the President’s Office at Sheetal Niwas, in which it will be decided that after the violent protests led by the students on Tuesday, Prime Minister K.P. Who will lead the interim government after Sharma Oli is removed from the post. The joint statement said, President Ramchandra Paudel is taking initiative to deal with the situation, respecting the sovereignty of the people, civil freedom, regional integrity, national unity and freedom.
