Nepal officially joined ‘International Big Cat Alliance’

Nepal has officially become a member of the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA). IBCA gave this information on Saturday. IBCA said, “Nepal has signed the draft agreement and at the same time it has formally joined the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA).”

The IBCA was established with the aim of promoting international cooperation in the conservation of seven species including tigers, leopards and snow leopards. The IBCA said, “Snow leopards, tigers and general leopards are found in Nepal and its joining IBCA will strengthen global cooperation towards conservation of other organisms of this species.”

ComeEBCA has congratulated the Nepal government for this move. By 2022 in Nepal, the tiger population increased by almost three times to 355 (according to the latest census so far), which was only 121 in 2009.
