Amid growing protests, Nepal has imposed curfew on the Bhairahwa border with India. Demonstrations have spread in many cities of the Terai region and have come out on the streets demanding protest change. Curfew on Bhairahwa border in Lumbini district is part of efforts to control unrest and maintain law and order. The major political party CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Integrated Socialist) have also joined the demand for change, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli amidst the current crisis. Amidst all this, security was increased around PM Oli-President’s residences.

Military officials said the army has been deployed to control the situation. The Kathmandu district administration implemented prohibitory orders from 12:30 pm to 10:00 pm to prevent unrest in the areas around Parliament House. Chief District Officer Chitra Lal Rizal said in a notice that people will not be allowed to move, demonstrations, meetings, meetings or demonstrations in the restricted area. The local administration later also implemented these restrictive orders in various areas of Rashtrapati Bhavan, Vice President’s Housing and the Prime Minister’s Office.
