Nepal: Case of corruption registered against 18 people including telecom head

A case was filed in a special court by the Commission for the Investigation of Abus of Authority (CIAA) for alleged irregularities in contract expansion for maintenance of Nepal Telecom’s billing system.

Nepal’s anti -corruption body on Sunday registered a case of corruption against 18 people, including former and current managing directors of the government -owned Nepal Telecom.

According to CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel, a case was filed in a special court by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse Authority (CIAA) regarding alleged irregularities in contract expansion for the maintenance of Nepal Telecom’s billion system. Nepal Telecom Managing Director (MD) Sangeeta Pahari and former MD Sunil Paudel are among the 18 people against whom a case was registered.
