The Supreme Court has expanded the National Examination Board (NBE) to conduct NEET PG (Post Graduate) Examination on August 3, 2025. NEET PG was originally to be held on 15 June. The Supreme Court bench of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustine George Christ said that on August 3, they seem appropriate due to conducting NEET PG exam. The bench had initially questioned more than two months sought by NBE to conduct the examination.
NBE was ordered to conduct the exam in a shift
The bench also clarified that the board would not be given any further expansion. Earlier, on May 30, the Supreme Court ordered NBE to conduct NEET PG exam in only one shift. Due to this, NBE filed an application in the apex court seeking extending time to resume the examination at the later date. This argued that a new arrangement would have to be made to follow the order of single shift as about 1,000 examination centers are required. The NBE had said in its petition that it will conduct the examination on 15 June on August 3, between 9 am and 12.30 pm. He said that this is the most likely date given by his technology partner Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS).
NBE sought a possible date of August 3 for the exam
Among other things, NBE has sought permission from the apex court to determine “NEET PG 2025 on August 3, which is the highest available date given by its technology partner TCS as per the instructions passed by the order passed by the order of May 30, 2025.
