The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival starting from 13 May 2025 will be held in France by 24 May 2025. This year Neeraj Ghaywan’s film ‘Homebound’ has been selected at the An Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival and premiered at the festival on Wednesday. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khattar and Vishal Jethwa in the lead roles.
Director Neeraj Ghewan and Payal Kapadia had a memorable meeting at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Neeraj is displaying any of his films in this film festival after nearly a decade, while Payal is playing the role of a jury member. Neeraj Ghewan’s second feature film Homebound was released on Wednesday at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in the ‘An Certain Regard’ block where the audience stood for nine minutes and applauded the film by clapping.

Neeraj then met the Grand Prix Award winner Kapadia at the Cannes Film Festival last year. Neeraj shared a picture with Kapadia on Instagram and said in a post, “A few moments spent with the biggest Indian star Payal Kapadia at the Cannes Film Festival.”

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has attended the Cannes Film Festival several times, commented on the post of his colleague Neeraj, “Two shining stars.” Last year, Payal Kapadia created history by winning the second highest award of the Kan Film Festival for her first feature film ‘All We Imagine is Light’.
