NCERT removed the topics of Mughal, Delhi Sultanate: Syllabus of 7th class books changed; Add the chapter of Mahakumbh and Char Dham

NCERT has changed the syllabus of class 7th books. The topics of Mughal Sultanate and Delhi Sultanate have been removed from History, Geography Textbooks, while priority initiatives including Mahakumbh have been added to books.

NCERT says that books will be released in 2 parts and this is only the first part of books. It is not clear whether these topics will be added to the second part or not.

These changes have been made by the National Curriculum Framework for School Education i.e. NCFSE 2023. They have been designed under the National Education Policy 2020.

Earlier, NCERT reduced many parts related to Mughal and Delhi Sultanate at the time of Kovid-19 epidemic. It included Topics of Tughlaq, Khilji, Lodhi and Mughal achievements. Now these topics have been completely removed from books.

Merged 3 books in 1

Actually, NCERT has merged 3 different books of history, geography and social and political life in 1. Its name is Exploring Society- India and Beond Part 1. It will be released soon. These books will be applicable from 2025-26 sessions.

Earlier English book ‘Marigold’ was named ‘Mridang’

Recently, NCERT released new names of books for various classes. English books of class 1 and class 2 are changed to Marigold to ‘Mridang’ and class 3 book is named ‘Santoor’.

The English book of class 6 has been named ‘Eastern’ from ‘Honeysuckle’ to ‘Eastern’. The same pattern has been adopted for Maths books. Class 6 mathematics book, which was earlier in English, Mathematics and Hindi in Hindi, now it will come under the name Mathematics in both languages.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had earlier criticized the Central Government for imposing Hindi, claiming that the central government refused to give finance to the state schools for refusing to implement three language formulas in NEP.
