Natural disaster havoc in Jammu-Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the affected areas

Due to continuous heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir, many districts have caused heavy havoc due to cloudburst, floods and landslides. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Marog village in Ramban district on Sunday to take stock of the situation.

During the tour, the Chief Minister said, ‘The situation is being assessed. It has been raining heavy for the last few days. The highway has been damaged in many places. He informed that an alternative route has been identified after talking to the concerned company, NHIA and the district administration.

Omar Abdullah said, ‘Repair will take 20-25 days to repair in places where the roads have been damaged due to landslides. But currently we have an alternative route, which has been prepared for traffic from both sides. He also said that there has been heavy damage in the areas around Udhampur and if the road is restored there, the traffic will run smoothly.

Relief and rescue work continues in Rajgarh

On the incident of cloudburst in Rajgarh, the Chief Minister said that he spoke to the MLA on the phone and immediately instructed the officials for relief work. He told, ‘DC and SP have reached the spot. Red Cross has also arranged. Whatever more is necessary, we will do it. To deal with this disaster, the government and various agencies are engaged in relief and rescue operations, so that the affected people can be helped as soon as possible and life can be normalized.
