Prisoner number 15528 has been given to JD (S) leader Prajwal Revanna suspended at Parappana Aghara Central Jail in Bengaluru. This information was given by jail officials on Sunday. After being sentenced to life imprisonment in a rape case, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s grandson Revanna spent his first night in jail.
According to jail officials, after the court’s decision, Prajwal Revanna was seen very upset and crying. The jail doctors checked his health late at night, during which he started crying and he expressed his pain. The doctors described his condition as stable. Revanna is placed in a high-security cell and is being given strict security. They have to wear uniforms of prisoners as per jail rules.

On Saturday, a special court convicted Prajwal Revanna in a case of rape and sexual exploitation. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment, meaning that he would have to stay in jail till the rest of the natural life. Along with this, they have also been fined a total of ₹ 11.5 lakh. Out of the amount of fine, ₹ 11.25 lakh will be given to the victim, who was the domestic assistant of Revanna’s family. The victim alleged that she was raped twice in Hassan and her farmhouse in Bangalore in 2021 and was also recorded.

Prajwal Revanna has reportedly stated that he has appealed to the High Court to challenge the decision. The court has sentenced Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment under sections 376 (2) (K) and 376 (2) (n) of the IPC. In addition, he has also been punished with strict imprisonment in other sections such as sexual harassment and criminal intimidation.
