According to the information, the matter started when Charanjit Singh, resident of Subhash Gate, lodged a complaint with the local body department. The complaint alleged that Rana was getting illegal possession in the city. This is causing financial loss to the council. The government issued a notice to Rana on 12 March 2025 after recording the statement of the council’s building inspector Nisha.
Political people accused of removing from post
Rana said in his defense that some political people are trying to remove him from the post. He informed that no confidence motion was brought against him earlier. But every time the opponents failed. Rana said in reply to the government that he has sent letters several times to the officials to remove illegal occupation.
Many councilors reached the office of city council head
Local Badi Minister Ravjot Singh summoned Rana on 9 April 2025. Rana put his side in front of the minister. He assured to work honestly in future as well. After the relief from Rana, many councilors reached his office on Tuesday. Many people including Ravindrapal Raju Comrade, Davindra Jeet Sidhu, Sukhwinder Singh congratulated him. At the same time, disappointment on the faces of opposition counselors clearly appeared.
File complaint without action
After investigating the complaint, Minister Ravjot Singh filed the complaint on 12 March 2025 without action. After this, on the evening of May 12, 2025, Chief Secretary, Local Badi Department, IAS Tejveer Singh also approved this decision. He sent a copy of this to Pradhan Rana.
