Shah Rukh Khan has finally won his first national award after entertaining the audience for 33 years. Recently, the winners of the 71st National Film Awards were announced. Shah Rukh Khan won the Best Actor Award for his role in Atley’s film ‘Jawan’. Since then, there has been a debate on social media that Shah Rukh Khan should have received the National Award long ago for his film ‘Swadesh’. Now, ‘Shaktimaan’ actor Mukesh Khanna Shah Rukh Khan and his National Award have come out strongly defending the victory. Mukesh Khanna said, “Those who are saying that Shah Rukh Khan should have received the award not for this film (jawan), but for the indigenous – remember that AR Rahman had received an Oscar for ‘Jai Ho’, not for many beautiful songs made earlier by him.” He further said, “Shah Rukh has been working hard for the last 40 years – so what is wrong if he has received the National Award?”
Mukesh Khanna’s response came a few days after actress Urvashi questioned the jury’s decision, who won the Best Supporting Actress Award for ‘Ullozhukku’.
