Motorcycle rider dies in a collision between two -wheeler and bus in Meghalaya

In Reh-Bhoi district of Meghalaya, a motorcycle collided with a bus coming from the front and caught fire in which the motorcycle driver died by burning. The police gave this information on Thursday.

A senior official said the accident occurred in Nongpoh area at around 10.20 pm on Wednesday night when the motorcycle collided with a bus full of more than 50 passengers. The motorcycle caught fire after the collision.

He said, the motorcycle coming from the wrong direction collided with a night-service bus on the Guwahati-Shilang road. Two -wheelers were burnt in the fire, the bus also caught fire.

The official said that the fire and emergency service team from Nongpoh reached the spot and extinguished the fire. He said, the motorcycle driver died on the spot and he has not been identified yet. All passengers are safe. The official said that the body of the deceased was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for post -mortem.
