Moscow agreed to negotiate with India’s duty on import of Russian oil: Trump

US President Donald Trump claimed that the fee imposed on India on buying oil from Russia prepared a meeting with Washington in Moscow. He said that if Russia did not do so, he could have lost its second largest customer.

Trump’s remarks came before his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Encourage, Alaska. He said in an interview to Fox News on Thursday, “I think everything has an effect.”

Trump claimed that when he told India that we will pay you a fee, because you are buying oil from Russia, in this situation they (India) had to stop buying oil from Russia.

The US President said, then he (Russia) called, and wanted to meet. We will see what happens with this meeting. But of course when you lose your second largest customer, and perhaps you can also lose your first biggest customer, I think it will also have a role.

Trump said, India was the second largest customer, and was getting very close to China. China is the largest buyer of Russian oil. India said on Thursday that it has not stopped buying oil from Russia after the US President’s fee threat and is going on to procure completely for financial reasons.
