After winning the three consecutive major assembly elections, the NDA is likely to win 324 seats on the Lok Sabha elections today. On the other hand, the Congress -led opposition alliance, which gave a shock to the NDA by winning 234 seats in 2024, will be able to win 208 seats today. The latest survey poll of the India Today-sevotor’s mood of nation was held between July 1 to August 14, 2025, in which 54,788 people from all Lok Sabha constituencies were interacted. 1,52,038 additional interviews were also analyzed from the regular tracker data of the sevotor. Thus, the opinion of a total of 2,06,826 respondents was considered for this MOTN report. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP, riding on Prime Minister Modi’s charisma, suffered a shock when it got only 240 out of 543 seats, which was 32 less than the required 272 seats to form the government on their own.

However, with its colleagues of the NDA, the total sum of 293 seats helped Modi form the third government – the achievement equal to Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. India Block gave a tough fight to the NDA claiming to cross the 400 seats and won 234 seats. Since then, the electoral luck of the opposition faction has deteriorated and lost assembly elections in major states like Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi. The impact of this dramatic change brought by the BJP is also visible in the mood survey of the latest nation.

If you look at the party -wise, the survey estimates that if the general elections were now, the BJP would have won 260 seats, but still it could not get a simple majority. This is much lower than the estimated 281 seats in the February edition by the country’s Mizaz Survey. It is a coincidence that the number of seats of NDA has come down from the estimated 343 seats in February to 324 by the Mizaz Survey of the country.
