Months after Indian airstrikes, PAK’s Nur Khan starts reconstructive on airbase

Earlier this week, two VVIP jet aircraft of the Government of Pakistan reached Tianjin for the SCO Summit with a Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the other one with the newly-top field marshal Asim Munir. Gulfstream G450 aircraft flew from Lahore, while Munir from Noor Khan Base in Chaklala, Munir Rawalpindi. A few meters away from the runway used by Munir’s jet, the reconstruction work started at a site damaged badly in the Indian attack during Operation Sindoor. According to the Intel Lab’s Tie-of-Laby Researcher Demian Simone, special military trucks were seen at the scene in satellite photographs before the attack, which were destroyed during the attacks. Analysts believe that these trucks could serve as commands and control (C2) centers, connecting air and ground resources with communication systems.

A media report, quoting new photos from American company Maxar Technologies, claims that about four months after the attack, the reconstruction work is going on at Noor Khan Base. In these pictures taken on Wednesday, the blocks and ground work of new walls are visible at the scene. Pakistani Air Force No. 12 VIP Squadron, which is named Burrax. It is operated from this base. The unit is responsible for the transport of the country’s top leadership including the President, Prime Minister, Army Chiefs and Cabinet Ministers. In May 2025, India’s attack was targeted by special military trucks in a campus of the airbase and also damaged the surrounding structures. These structures were later dropped due to probably structural problems and internal damage.

The current layout of the new wall sections seems to match the layout of the buildings that were dropped. This attempt to rebuild also shows Pakistan’s intention to restore operations at this site, which is possibly an integral part of airspace operations. The latest photos also feature a VVIP jet and a military transport aircraft resembling the Bombardier Global 6000 near the reconstruction sector. Munir has recently used PAF Global 6000 for foreign trips, while his regular gulfstream aircraft went to the UK’s Farnboro Center for three months maintenance. That aircraft is now back, and is believed to have another Gulfstream, J755, also in Noor Khan.
