Montha’s landfall in Andhra Pradesh, winds blowing at 90-100 kmph

Cyclone Montha approached the coast of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, and the process of reaching the coast has begun, and it will take three to four hours to cross the state by late night. Andhra Pradesh and neighboring Odisha are on high alert as authorities evacuated hundreds of people to safe places and began preparations for the cyclone to approach Kakinada. The storm, which is moving at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour, has caused heavy rains and strong winds in the coastal area since Monday.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Montha, which intensified into a severe cyclonic storm today, has moved north-northwestwards at a speed of 17 km per hour during the last six hours and is about 120 km east of Machilipatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 110 km south of Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), 220 km south of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). Located in the south-southwest and 460 kilometers southwest of Gopalpur (Odisha).
