Pammi of ‘Ashram’, the role of ‘Xi’, Nandini of ‘Rhythm Heavy’ will definitely be in your mind. Marathi Mulgi Aditi Pohankar, who lives in these characters, has been an athlete before becoming an actor, but the mother wanted to see the daughter in the hoarding, she became an actor in this affair.
Aditi Pan India has become a star in her decade career. He is successful on both OTT platform and big screen, but before this success he lost a lot in personal life. Despite the money, he saw such a financial crisis that there was no money to pay the hospital bill.
Aditi Pohankar is telling her story in today’s success story…

Aditi has also done Ed Films for many famous brands.
Mother wanted to see my photo in hoardings
When a family is breaking, a child comes to protect the house from breaking. I am that child of my house. My parents were always formed. The relationship between the two was unique. There was a lot of love between the two. Both were equal with being interactive. My mother once told me that she wants to see my picture in hoardings. By looking at the hoarding, they only meant that I should top the study and my photo was in the toppers list.
I was fond of acting. Some of my friends told that if you want to learn acting, you have to go to Makarand Deshpande. I reached the Earth Theater. Going there, I would stare at the theater from outside. I did not dare to talk to Makarand Deshpande sir. It took me 3 weeks to tell them about myself just by saying Hi.
When I went to her, she felt that I had run away from home. I told them that I am from Mumbai. Then I told him about his Kaka Pandit Ajay Pohankar. I felt that if I tell about Kaka, they would believe me. In such a situation, our talk started. In this way my grooming started. I also did two plays with Makarand Sir and recently did a play called ‘Sultal’.

Aditi with her mother.
Distance made from sports after mother’s passing
My parents were athletes. My father Sudhir Pohankar was a marathon runner and mother Shobha Pohankar was a national level hockey player. I also chose to follow the footsteps of my mother and father. Whatever I was doing in my life, I was doing to my parents and to make them feel proud. I also started running and was doing very well. Had won many medals for the state.
I was 15 years old when my mother died. I was completely broken after my mother passed. I did not understand what to do? In Thane, I did not dare to go to the place where I spent so much time with my mother. Then my coach’s daughter also passed through Lungs cancer. In such a situation, both of us had dominated sorrow. So I decided to take a break from the game.
Cuckoo’s voice was found first film
From a very young age, I started doing theater with Makarand sir. I had a play with Sir, named Time Boy. In that play, I was playing a seven -year -old boy. Director Nishikant Kamat saw me in that play. I had taken out the voice of the cuckoo. He liked my performance.

In such a situation, Nishikant sir contacted me for the Marathi film ‘Lai heavy’. When I have studied from the convent school, my Marathi was not so good. An entire monologue was in Marathi. I worked hard on it by spending two weeks. Then I got that film.
Say yes to Tamil film for money
My first film ‘Lai heavy’ was commercially successful. The film continued for three months in the cinema hall. The songs of my own film were playing everywhere. Soon after ‘Rhythm Heavy’, I received the offer of Tamil film ‘Jaimini Ganesanam’. At first I could not understand whether this film should be done or not. There were four girls in the film.
When I got the offer of this film, I had dengue. I was very weak and I did not even have money to pay the hospital bill. At that time I was in dire need of money. I called my dad and asked for money, but he refused to give. I told them that my health is not good. Papa said, I said that you have to take care of yourself.
Then I thought what to do now? In such a situation, I said yes to ‘Jaimini Ganesanam’. I was told that four lakh rupees are going to be received for this film. I was surprised. I paid my hospital bill, house rent with the same money. Still I survived two lakh rupees. I invested those money.

Aditi lost her parents at a very young age.
Papa did not give money
After the mother’s death, I left Thane and started living alone. This was not due to any family dispute, but I had to audition everyday, so Mumbai had to shift alone from Thane. Papa did not give me money in illness, so there was no such thing as lack of money. I do not come from any weak family. My father had money.
When I chose acting, he told me that the acting was going in the field on his own free will. There are many uncertainty in this field. In such a situation, your brain balance will also be shaken. You decide in two years what you have to do. If you do not have to act, then I will give you money for MBA. However, I never took my father’s talk in a wrong way. My father had never stopped me from anything.
Imtiaz put all the money in impressing sir
When I stepped into the acting world, a bucket list was made. 10 names related to the industry were included in that list. In my list, Prakash Jha, Imtiaz Ali sir were also named. I was meeting Earth from Imtiaz Sir in the theater, but whenever we meet, we have met before?
I made a show reel to show them. I had made all my earnings to make it. I shot that show in Reel Goa. All the money was over, so I came to sit in the non -respective section of the Mumbai train from Goa. I came to Mumbai and gave the show reel to Imtiaz Sir, but he did not see it for a long time. Still I did not give up.

I followed him to show the show reel. When he saw the show reel, then called me to meet. At that time he was looking for an actress for the Netflix series ‘Xi’. He told me that this character is not for your age. The roll is a little complex. We need an experience actress. Would you like to audition? I remember that it was Ganapati’s time. Imtiaz Sir, when I was briefing me, the drums started ringing. I could not hear anything.
I did not understand their briefing. The bus kept shaking head so that I feel it. I called one of his assistant directors and asked me what is the scene, he told me. That is the first scene of the series. I applied in that audition what I had learned from the theater. I was successful and thus the dream of working with Imtiaz Sir was fulfilled.
My show was not only India, number one in many countries
I had thrown everything for the series ‘Xi’. I went to Chawl to understand my character. Wandering in the city, traveled the girls working in the police department. Wherever I looked at the police, their gesture, getting up and sitting were all notices from far away. I started the shoot, then my father passed away and then Kovid came.
In such a situation, I could not speak my pain to anyone. She used to cry alone by closing herself in the room. I felt that now my career is over. I worked so hard to water. I used to cry very loudly by closing the door.

But perhaps it is called luck. My show was watched a lot because of the lockdown. This show was number one not only in India but also abroad. The US, Spain, London were the most trading shows everywhere. I received praise from people of all ages for the role of Bhumika. Especially from women. Apart from acting, people praised my voice, my eyes.
Wrestling learned in four days for ‘Ashram’ series
I believe in luck a lot. If you want something and work hard for it, then it is definitely fulfilled. I was shooting ‘Xi’ for Imtiaz sir. At the same time, I was doing ‘ashram’ for Prakash Jha. I also worked very hard for ‘ashram’ and also faced difficulties. I learned wrestling for this series in four days. That too in a cold of two-three degrees. I used to shoot all day and learn wrestling in the evening. Then there was also a problem of language. In ‘Xi’ I had to keep Marathi tone and Haryanvi in ’Ashram’.
Prakash sir told me that you have to speak Punjabi. I took two-three months training for Haryanvi. When I told Sir and said what to do now? Prakash sir started behaving like my father. He said that you have come here as an actor and I am not your tutor. You see a way. Then I learned Punjabi.
Intimate scene in without intimacy coach series
My character is very bold in both ‘Xi’ and ‘Ashram’. I have done intimate scenes in both these series. There was no intimacy coordinator to guide me on the set. I was younger when I did Netflix’s series ‘Xi’. I told Imtiaz sir that I am a very shy girl. It will be a bit difficult for me to do an intimate scene in front of the camera. He assured me that he would be present every moment for me.
We used to talk mechanical things to shoot such scenes so that they could be comfortable with each other. I myself go and talk to the actor in front of how we will perform the scene.

Girls cried on the set of ‘Ashram’ after seeing the performance
There is a scene in this series, when Pammi sees in a dream that it is going wrong with her. After my performance, when the scene was cut, I heard the sound of crying. I could not understand what happened on the set. Then I saw some assistant direct crying behind the camera.
I went and asked him what happened to you guys? He said that she is unable to see what is happening to Pammi. I then said the series is a hit. If my performance is making people cry, then it is my success.
