Mohanlal’s film L2: The controversy related to Empuran is not being named. The film was released on March 27, showing scenes of Gujarat riots. It was only after the release that RSS started protesting, calling the film anti -Hindu. The film had passed with the sensor, although due to protest, the censor board suggested the makers to put 17 cuts in it. Now, according to the recent news, the sensor has now demanded the makers to apply 24 cuts instead of 17. The makers have started changing the film, obeying the board.

After the RSS protest, the Kerala Central Board of Film Certification made a change of 17 cuts after seeing the film again. These included the Gujarat riots, the names of the villain, the cruel atrocities shown on women, but now the board has added 3 cuts to these. According to this, there will be 23 changes in the film.

The name of the Union Minister of State for Tourism will be removed from the film

The current film includes a special Thanks slide, which was coming to the name of Union Minister of State for Tourism Suresh Gopi, although the makers are removing it after the board’s suggestion. The scenes of violence with pregnant women in the film have also been removed. The villain of the film is named Baldev from Bajrangi. Whatever scene of the National Investigation Agency is mentioned.

The co-producer of the film confirmed

The film’s co-producer Antony Perumbavur has said on the issue that the team’s decision to edit the film after the board’s suggestion. He has said that it was not his goal to make a film on the wrong subject. They do not want any dispute. There was no pressure on them for these changes. All changes have been made keeping in mind the audience.

There was a demand to stop the film release

Let us tell you that on April 1, a petition was filed in the Kerala High Court, demanding a ban on the screening of the film. The petitioner objected to the scene of Gujarat riots in the film. They allege that communal violence may erupt from the film.

Let us tell you that after all the changes, the new version of the film is being shown in theaters from 2 April i.e. today. The film stars Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran in important roles. The film is also directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.
