Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been out of Team India for a long time. He last played for India in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Since then he is out of the team. Although Shami has participated in the IPL and has been a regular for Bengal in domestic cricket, the BCCI selectors have ignored him for the series against West Indies and then Australia.
Shami has also not been included in the ODI and T20 teams announced for the Australia tour. This tour is starting from 19th October. Shami has said something for the first time in this matter. He said that, I am completely fit and have been playing continuously, yet I was not selected. The reason for this has not been told to me yet.
On not being selected for the Australia tour, Shami said on his YouTube channel that there are a lot of rumors and memes going around. People want to know what I think about the selection for the Australia series. All I would say is that the selection is not in my hands. This is the job of the selection committee, coach and captain.
Shami further said that my fitness is also good. I always try to do better because it is very important to keep yourself motivated when you are away from the field. I also took part in the Duleep Trophy, where I bowled around 35 overs and both my pace and rhythm were good. I have no problem with my fitness.
