Missing link project of Mumbai-Pune Expressway is a miracle of modern engineering: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday described the “Missing Link” project of Mumbai-Pune Expressway as a miracle of modern engineering and said that it would be a subway for the ghat section.

After reviewing the progress of the project, he said that after the completion of the project, the journey time between Mumbai and Pune is expected to reduce about 30 minutes and reduce accidents. There is often a traffic jam situation on the Amritanjan Bridge section on the busy route, which is about 94 km long.

Officials said that the project includes the longest highway tunnel in India, which will be nine kilometers in length and 23 meters width. He said that it will also include the highest road bridge in the country 185 meters high.

He said that 94 percent of the work has been completed so far and the remaining construction work will also be completed soon. He praised engineers and workers for surrender under challenging circumstances.

He said that with the commissioning of ‘Missing Link’, the travel time between Mumbai and Pune will be reduced by 30 minutes. He said that this will be a subway for the ghat section, which will reduce accidents, improve fuel efficiency and also reduce pollution. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde described the project as a radical change.
