Miss England is in the news after claiming alleged harassment in Millla Maggi, Telangana, due to which she has withdrawn the name from the Miss World competition. The 24 -year -old Maggi arrived in Hyderabad for the competition on 7 May, but returned to the UK on 16 May. The incident has been strongly condemned by BRS leader Katie Rama Rao.
According to The Sun’s report, the participants of the competition were allegedly forced to live in makeup at all times and wear ball gowns all day, including breakfast. The situation worsened when he was asked to mix the middle age group for expressing gratitude for his financial contribution in the event.
The Sun quoted Maggi as saying, ‘I went there to bring change, but we had to sit like the monkeys who performed. It is stuck in the past. Ethically, I could not be a part of it. As far as I can see, there is no change in it. All the crowns and sisters in the world do not matter with using your voice and bringing changes in the world.
On Sunday, Telangana Minister and Bharat Rashtriya Samiti (BRS) Executive Chairman KT Rama Rao strongly condemned the alleged harassment faced by Maggi during his visit to the state. Rao, while talking to X, regretted the incident and said, ‘You are a very strong woman, Mili Magi, and I really regret that you had to go through this situation in our Telangana state. Our culture of respecting women is very rich. Unfortunately, what you experienced does not represent the real Telangana. I hope you will feel better soon. As the father of a child, I want any woman or girl to never go through such frightening experiences. At the same time, I strongly condemn the attitude of gaslighting the victim and demand a thorough investigation into the allegations made by Miss England Mic Miley Mici.
