A Class 11 student got married to a bus driver of her school in a temple in Gulriha area of Gorakhpur district. Fearing that they would be caught, both of them allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. Police sources gave this information.
Police sources said on Saturday that the minor student got married to Abhishek Sharma alias Happy, a 23-year-old bus driver of her own school, at a local temple and on Thursday, fearing being caught, both of them consumed pesticide. Sources said that both of them also cut their wrists.
He said that the student and the bus driver have been admitted to Gorakhpur Medical College where Abhishek’s condition is said to be critical. Meanwhile, the girl’s condition is stable.
Sources said that before consuming poison, Abhishek recorded a video with the girl and “in it he said that they cannot live together but no one can stop them from dying together.”
According to sources, the video was sent to Abhishek’s relatives who immediately informed his father. He reached the spot and found both of them unconscious. Gulriha police station incharge Vijay Pratap Singh said that till now both the families have not filed any written complaint. The girl’s age is being verified before initiating any legal action.
