A minor girl from Muzaffarpur, Bihar died in Patna on Sunday morning. It is being told that the girl was raped and then assaulted. The rape victim was referred to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), where she had to wait for five hours after registration on Saturday. He died after this. Virendra Paswan, the uncle of the deceased girl, alleged that he had to wait for the girl in an ambulance, but the hospital administration did not recruit her. He claimed that if the girl was admitted to PMCH in time, her life could have been saved.

The National Commission for Women has taken cognizance of this incident. The commission said that taking self -cognizance of the tragic death of a minor Dalit rape victim in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, who had to wait in an ambulance for more than four hours without any medical facility, National Women’s Commission Chairman Vijaya Rahatkar has strongly condemned the gross negligence and arranged failures in the matter. He has instructed the Chief Secretary and DGP to ensure a thorough and fair investigation of the case, as well as asked to investigate the role of hospital officials and police in this tragic lapse. Immediate action should be taken against those found guilty of being negligent in duty. A detailed action report should be submitted to the Commission within three days.
The opposition has become an attack on the state government over the whole matter. Rahul Gandhi wrote on X that in Muzaffarpur, the negligence with a Dalit minor daughter and then the negligence in treatment is very shameful. Had there been treatment on time, his life could have been saved. But the double engine government has taken care of safety, even in the protection of life, he was grossly negligent. We will not sit silent until the victim gets justice. Strict action should be taken against the culprits and careless officers.
