Bureau report : A new car has been launched in the market to compete with TATA Tiago. Maris Garage Motor India i.e. MG has launched its new electric car on Wednesday. It is the cheapest car of MG, small and entry level car. It is about Rs 50 thousand cheaper than Tata’s Tiago EV. Its production has started in Gujarat’s Hallora plant. MG is the second car EV after the MG ZS EV.

Bookings start from May 15

The booking of MG’s new electric car has started from May 15, its delivery will start from May itself, the EV will get a range of 230 km if fully charged. The company claims that this car will run for 500 rupees for 1 thousand km, it has Nex level technology, you can put company made punky body wraps, cool stickers on the car.

By folding the seat you can increase the boot space

The car offers a foldable split seat configuration which means you can increase the boot space, while the company has launched it in 5 color options with black roof, Apple Green, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Candy White and Candy White with Black Roof. is EV has 2 doors and can seat 4 people.

Interior design of the car

MG has tried to give tallboy design, its front will get LED headlamp, MG logo, daytime running lamp, rear LED tail light, chrome door handle, front and real parking camera. MG Motor is offering an intelligent tech dashboard, the car has got an integrated floating voice screen. Which includes a 10.25 inch head unit and a 10.25 inch digital cluster. A floating unit will be found along with the dashboard.

Competing with Tata’s Tiago EV

MG Motor has prepared this car for driving in congested areas. The car will take on Tata’s Tiago EV which was launched last year. Tata has launched the Tiago at Rs 8.49 lakh while the MG Comet is priced at Rs 7.98 lakh. That is, about 50 thousand cheaper than Tiago.

Car range

A 17.3 kwh lithium ion battery has been provided in the Comet EV. It is a front wheel drive car and will give a range of 230 km on a single full charge, while the Tata Tiago runs 250 and 315 km on a single charge with different battery packs.
