Broadcast Channels Features on Instagram : Meta has introduced new broadcast channels on Instagram, a one-to-many messaging tool that will allow creators to engage directly with their followers at scale. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement with his Meta channel on the social networking platform. Creators can also use voice notes to share their latest updates and behind-the-scenes moments, and even create polls for fan feedback, the company said in a blogpost on Thursday.
However, only producers can send messages to the broadcast channels and receivers can give their feedback on the content, besides the user on the other side can vote through polls. Giving information, the company said that in the coming time, many more features will also be added to these broadcast channels. Upcoming features will include adding other creators, crowdsource questions to ask anything, and much more.
Once a creator accesses broadcast channels and places the first message in the inbox, their followers will automatically receive a message to join broadcast channels. In addition, followers can leave or mute these channels at any time and control their notifications from creators.
Creators can use the Join Channel sticker in Stories to encourage their followers to join as well. We are currently testing broadcast channels with a handful of creators in the US and plan to expand in the coming months, Meta said. We will be testing broadcast channels on Messenger and Facebook in the coming months, the company said.
