Indore police on Sunday arrested property dealer Shilom James on charges of tampering with evidence in the Meghalaya Honeymoon murder case. Shilom is allegedly accused of throwing a black bag of Sonam Raghuvanshi, the main accused. Police told India Today TV that this bag had Rs 5 lakh cash, Sonam’s jewelry, a desi pistol and its clothes, which were all important items related to the investigation.
During the investigation, Vishal alias Vicky Chauhan, one of the arrested accused, revealed that he had booked an online auto for Sonam. Chauhan, who was allegedly hired by Sonam to kill her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, said that the auto had a black bag with Sonam’s clothes, jewelry, Rs 5 lakh cash and a pistol.

After this statement, Shillong Police reached Sonam’s hometown in Indore. However, the black bag could not be detected. Subsequently, the Indore police tracked the auto driver who took the bag to the Hirabagh area, where Sonam was hidden. Police raided the flat in Hirabagh, but the bag was still missing.
After scrutinizing the nearby CCTV footage, the police saw Shilom carrying a black bag from the flat and keeping her in a car. The police called him for questioning, but when he did not respond to the summons, his phone was tracked. Shilom was caught on Indore-Dewas Road and arrested.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, a local court sent Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged lover Raj to 13 days judicial custody in connection with the murder of Raja. Officials said that the police custody of both the main accused ended on Saturday and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case did not demand it forward.
