Bhopal. Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra says that the incidents do not look the same as many times. Often, they are revealed to investigate something different. Mr. Mishra was addressing the master class on the subject of ‘Media and Police’ organized by the Department of Mass Communication at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communications University, Bhopal here today. On this occasion, Vice -Chancellor of the University Vijay Manohar Tiwari, the Registrar Prof. P. Sasikala, Head of Department Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi was present.
Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari said that the method of crime has changed due to technology, geographical boundaries have also been broken. In such a situation, there is a need to regulate the flow of information. He said that if the incident is not rationally seen, the direction of investigation changes. In such a situation, the role of media is of great importance in making people aware. He said that many times the crime is shown by glamorized. This pose a danger of wrong trend in the society. It has been observed that the number of suicides increases by increasing the news of suicide. He said that the test of media reporting is public interest and national interest. He said that due to media activism, many laws changed and many laws were made more tough. Along with this, many cases opened and surfaced under media pressure.
Vice -Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari said that the pressure on the police has increased due to continuous migration from villages to cities. There is a huge pressure on the students of journalism to become good citizens and also good journalists. While reporting national security questions, we have to keep in mind what to give and what not to give.
