Bathinda: In 2016, the court sentenced the accused to 8 years imprisonment in the shooting case of Kulwinder Kaur, a dancer of the Arcats group, who was shot dead during a wedding ceremony in a palace in Maur Mandi. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of five thousand rupees on the accused. Additional Sessions Judge Baljinder Singh Saran’s court pronounced this decision on Thursday.

It may be mentioned that on December 3, 2016, dance was going on on the stage during the wedding ceremony going on at the banquet hall in Maur Mandi. In which the girls of the dance group were dancing, while all the baratis and other guests were dancing below the stage.

Suddenly, a youth from the crowd raised a rifle in the air and the bullet hit the head of the dancer Kulwinder Kaur alias Janu, who was dancing on the stage, killing her. The video of the said massacre went viral on social media. After the accident, the police had registered a case of 302 against 4 people, including the accused Lucky Goyal alias Billa, who fired on the statements of Rajinder Singh, the husband of the deceased. In the case on which the court has sentenced the accused to 8 years imprisonment and a fine of five thousand rupees.
