The Union Minister gave instructions for targeted reforms in the circles of Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh and emphasized on learning from the models of Delhi and Telangana.
Scindia said that technology is the biggest force of change. He directed that the positive impact of IT 2.0 should be spread to other operational units besides “Citizen Centric Services” and “POSB System”. He informed that six new products will be launched in January and March 2026, which will give a new direction to the innovation and efficiency of the Postal Department.

Scindia gave message of public service from postal service

The Union Minister said that the Department of Posts is now being developed as a modern logistics organization in which parcel and mail services will contribute minimum 75% of the total revenue. He directed the Chief Postal General Managers of all circles to hold monthly review meetings and evaluate the performance in all the six major verticals including Parcel, Mail, International Mail & Global Business, RPLI/PLI, Citizen Services and POSB.
He motivated the officers and said that they should lead their work not just as an administrative responsibility but as a business unit. He said that all of you are not just officers, but Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) running a business.
Scindia also said that all circles should compare their operations with private sector companies and increase efficiency and innovation through competition and value chain analysis. He aimed to achieve a 20:80 ratio between government and private business in the next five years, making the department’s revenue source more diverse and sustainable.

Emphasis on the role and respect of Gram Dak Sevaks

Scindia appreciated the contribution of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) and said that their hard work, dedication and success stories should be shared widely. He said that the real strength of India Post is our Gram Dak Sevaks, who deliver the message of service and trust to every corner of the country.

New direction for modernization of India Post

During the meeting, Scindia said that the coming few months will prove to be transformative for India Post. We are moving towards comprehensive modernization of the postal infrastructure across the country. “By taking ‘Project Arrow’ to new heights, India Post will be established as a world-class logistics organization.”
He further said that Postal Service itself should maintain constant communication and cooperation with each other with the spirit of public service. He said that it is important that we meet regularly, share experiences and discuss areas where there are challenges so that solutions can be found.

India Post moving towards “Developed India”

Concluding the meeting, Scindia called upon all the officers to work with the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local to Global’. He said that my aim is that our officers should go out of their comfort zone and work with new thinking and new energy. Together, we will make India Post a citizen-centric, service-oriented and future-ready organization.
