The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for many other parts of Mumbai and Maharashtra due to the possibility of heavy rains and thunderstorms over the weekend. The alert announced on Saturday has predicted the bad weather conditions in the coming days, as Oligo cyclonic conditions and weak southwest monsoon winds are affecting the region.
Red alert issued for Mumbai
The Mumbai weather forecast states, “There is a possibility of extremely heavy rains and thunderstorms with electricity and strong winds at different places, which will remain valid till 8:30 am today. Yellow alert has been issued for the next two days as there is a possibility of storm activity with heavy rains. Remarkable, red alert has also been issued in nearby districts including Ratnagiri, Thane, Raigad and Sindhudurg. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has today issued a red alert for Maharashtra.
Weekly forecast for next 7 days
According to the latest forecast released by India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai is expected to be partly cloudy and intermittent rain in the next few days. Although the current era remains relatively moderate, rains are expected to raise rapid from June 11. On Saturday, June 7, the city was partially cloudy and is likely to splatter with moderate rains or thunderstorms. A similar weather is expected to remain on June 8, in which there is a possibility of splashing with rain or thunder once or twice. The temperature of both days is estimated to be between 25 ° C and 33 ° C.
The sky is expected to be cloudy and light rain by Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, 10 June. The minimum and maximum temperature will be around 26 ° C and 32 ° C, which will provide some relief from the early heat.
Possibility of rain with heavy rain and thunder
Earlier this week, Mumbai had already received a lot of rain, there was heavy rains in some parts of the city.
