Ludhiana: A car driver misbehaved with a traffic policeman in Punjab’s Ludhiana district. The young man pushed the traffic policeman on the bonnet and threw him to the ground as the vehicle hit him hard.
According to the information, the traffic police personnel stopped the youth from using mobile phones while driving. Enraged by this, the young man abused him. The incident is of Mata Rani Chowk. Traffic Head Constable Hardeep Singh on duty saw a car driver using a mobile phone from the Ghantaghar Chowk side and signaled him to stop.
The driver tried to flee instead of stopping. Suddenly, Hardeep came in front of the bonnet of the car, then the young man accelerated the car and took the traffic policeman on the bonnet. The policeman Hardeep kept making noise but the driver took him on the bonnet for about 1 km and took him to Chhoni Mohalla, Manna Singh Nagar and other areas. On the way, Hardeep was thrown down by hitting the vehicle hard.
Hardeep also got some injuries in this incident. His uniform is also torn. Hardeep was undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital. The traffic police and the local police station have taken the CCTV footage of the area and started taking legal action against the accused. According to the police, the statement of the police personnel will be recorded and the investigation of the matter will be started immediately.
Apart from this, another incident has taken place in Ludhiana. A truck fell off the bridge on the southern bypass near the toll plaza in Ludhiana. Two boilers were being brought in a truck from Pune for supply to Basti Jodhewal of Ludhiana. According to the driver Pawan, some miscreants chased him to rob him on Raikot Road before Mullanpur. These miscreants demanded 20 thousand rupees from him.
Pawan said that the miscreants told him that he had damaged their car, so he should pay the fine. While he did not even know those people nor did he do any harm. According to Pawan, the miscreants beat him badly and left him there.
After reaching here, his truck fell down from the bridge. Pawan said that a helpless animal came in front of his car, due to which his truck went out of control and fell down. While according to the eyewitnesses of the scene, Pawan was afraid of the said miscreants. Panicking because of the fear of robbery, the vehicle fell off the bridge.
